Abby McIntyre is a senior communications leader and advisor with nearly 20 years of experience helping organizations navigate complexity, pressure, and change. She works with public-serving and mission-driven leaders when the stakes are high, the message keeps shifting, and clarity matters most.

Her work sits upstream of traditional communications. Rather than simply producing materials or managing channels, Abby helps leaders clarify what is happening, what matters most, what needs to be said now, what should wait, and how to move forward in a way that protects trust.

Abby brings structure to ambiguity, alignment to competing priorities, and steady judgment to moments that can quickly drift into confusion, delay, or reputational risk. She is especially effective when internal pressure, governance demands, public visibility, or capacity strain make communication harder than it should be.

Her experience spans hospitals and health systems, higher education, municipal and community settings, national non-profit organizations, and regional media, giving her a practical understanding of how trust, reputation, and communication move across complex public-facing environments. She has led and supported communications through organizational recovery, public scrutiny, leadership transition, pandemic response, major redevelopment, brand change, recruitment pressures, fundraising, advocacy, and system transformation.

Her fine arts background also shapes how she works, bringing creativity, pattern recognition, visual thinking, and a deep respect for how people make meaning during moments of change.

At Brockville General Hospital, Abby supported the organization through some of its most important and sensitive years, including recovery and turnaround, the opening of the Donald B. Green Tower, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a major rebrand that helped position the hospital for its next chapter. Her broader experience includes communications and community engagement leadership with the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Ontario Health Team, brand and reputation work in higher education, and Brockville Life, a successful regional recruitment strategy that promoted Brockville and the surrounding region as a place to live, work, and build a career. She has also supported marketing and fundraising efforts for children’s hospital foundations across North America.
